What is real Marseille soap?
Authentic Marseille soap is made using a traditional process: hot saponification, in which vegetable oils are cooked for several days in large vats called cauldrons. The result is a pure soap containing at least 72% vegetable-derived fatty acids, with no chemical additives, parabens, or artificial colors. Our range meets these standards of excellence and offers both olive oil soap (green) and vegetable soap (white).
Key criteria for authenticity
A genuine Marseille soap can be identified by several criteria: a simple composition (oil, lye, water), the complete absence of chemical additives, the percentage of fatty acids listed on the packaging, and production using the traditional hot process. Our olive oil soap (green in color) follows the authentic Provençal recipe. Complete your routine with our scented bar soaps for a comprehensive skincare regimen.
Our Marseille soap sizes
The Marseille soap bar (300g and 600g) is the most traditional size—it can be used directly on the skin, cut into pieces, or grated for laundry. Our 100g soap bars and 175g to 250g soap slices offer a convenient alternative for daily hand washing. They pair perfectly with our school soap refills for a 100% natural home.
